I’m a senior at the University of Vermont where I’m studying Natural Resource Ecology with a focus on soil science and expanding awareness of Vermont’s fire history. I’ve personally witnessed the impact of fire in the West, both on people and ecosystems, and I believe shifting us away from these destructive wildfires is the paramount mission of our generation of environmental stewards. My favorite ecosystems are tall Doug-fir forests, and coastal sagebrush, both of which will only be more amazing with burning!
